PSG forward Kylian Mbappe has been declared fit to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League after suffering a nasty stamp in training from Idrissa Gana Gueye. The former AS Monaco Vunderkind cried in agony as his feet were stamped and fell to the floor.

After initial tests showed worrying signs, he has now been declared fit for the game. Breathe easy Mauricio Pochettino.

The French international has emerged as the leading man for PSG despite the presence of Neymar and Lionel Messi. He is the star of the team based on performances, consistency, and the stats back it up. PSG lost against Nice this weekend in his absence as he served a suspension. It was the familiar story against Christophe Galtier’s men, a lack of penetration in the final third. It is no wonder the Qatari-led club is dying to tie him to a new contract and keep him from the jaws of Real Madrid and Florentino Perez. He put in a noteworthy performance in the first leg at Santiago Bernabeu despite the transfer saga that underscored the tie.

PSG will be happy they have the imperious forward for this tie at least.
