Chelsea Midfielder Billy Gilmour Completes Loan To Norwich City
NORWICH have landed Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour on a season-long loan.

Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour has officially completed his loan move to Norwich City. He will spend his 2021/2022 season with Norwich as they gained promotion into the English Premier League. The UEFA Champions League winner will get a loan to the Canaries where he will get game time under former Thomas Tuchel’s assistant at Daniel Farke. They worked together at Borussia Dortmund. Farke also uses a double-6 pivot system which Thomas Tuchel currently employs at Chelsea, it will serve the young midfielder well to be more familiar with the system when he returns to Chelsea.

20-year-old Gilmour joined the Chelsea Academy from Rangers in the summer of 2017 and has made 22 senior appearances for the Blues since his debut as a substitute in a 2-2 league draw with Sheffield United in August 2019. He was the man of the match on his full English Premier League debut against Everton. Gilmour had won the same award against Liverpool on his FA Cup debut. He was handed his full Scotland debut in Scotland’s Euro 2020 draw with England at Wembley and also won the man of the match award.

Daniel Farke has commented that the Scotland international is a perfect fit and sounded enthusiastic about working with the young player. The loan looks like a win for all parties.
