Bayern Munich’s Niklas Sule will join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign BVB has confirmed. The 26-year-old defender rejected offers from the rekordmeister as he felt he was not valued enough. He has signed for German rivals BVB who conceded five against Bayer Leverkusen, taking their tally of conceded goals to 37, halfway through the Bundesliga campaign.
Mats Hummels is aging and has been in dire form while Manuel Akanji’s contract expires at the end of next season. Sule has made 159 appearances for Bayern Munich since he joined the club from Hoffenheim in 2017. He can use his massive frame to great effect. Although, he could use it better in the opposition box when attacking headers. He is secure in possession and progresses the ball well with passes and carries. Sule is deceptively quick. He may be easy to turn away from, but he is very quick to react. The Frankfurt-born defender is also one of the best at creating shot actions for teammates from defense despite his conservative passing.
