The 2020/2021 season was the breakout season for Fiorentina striker Dušan Vlahović. The Serbian scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A games. He was one of the few bright spots for La Viola as they finished 13th. His performances have attracted the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal but Atlético Madrid are closer to signing the striker. Diego Simeone is looking to bolster his attacking line with Luis Suárez aging. They are attempting to sweeten the deal for Fiorentina by adding a player. The 21-year-old is open to a move but does not want to play second fiddle to Harry Kane at Tottenham despite new sporting director Fabio Paratici being a fan. It remains to be seen how hard Arsenal will push for his signature with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette still on their books.
Atlético Madrid are in the Champions League and are currently the La Liga champions. They could win the La Liga again with Real Madrid and Barcelona faltering in the transfer market. There is a high possibility that the striker will pick the Rojiblancos. So far, the Madrid club have only signed Rodrigo de Paul from Udinese, and what a signing that was!
