Kepa Arrizabalaga set to join Napoli on loan from Chelsea

Chelsea and Napoli are close to reaching an agreement for the loan of Kepa Arrizabalaga

According to Gianluca DiMarzio, Napoli are set to complete the signing of Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan for the rest of the season.

The reports also state that Chelsea will pay three-quarters of his £196k-a-week contract salary while he is in Italy.

Kepa arrived in 2018 alongside Maurizio Sarri and had a decent first season in London. However, he struggled to maintain his form and was subsequently replaced by Edouard Mendy under Frank Lampard.

His shot-stopping had always been sketchy, but concentration lapses and cross-collection issues began to creep into his game.

The 27-year-old has found game time hard to come by since the arrival of the 2021 AFCON winner. He has decided to seek refuge in Napoli to replace Davide Ospina, who joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

Chelsea and Napoli have good rapport this summer after the transfer of Kalidou Koulibaly, and a deal should be concluded anytime soon.
