Hertha Berlin and Schalke 04 target Djibril Sidibe of AS Monaco whose contract expires this summer - Everton also interested
According to Foot Mercato, Hertha Berlin and Schalke are targeting French international Djibril Sidibe when his contract with AS Monaco runs out this summer. The 29-year-old has been on the fringes of the team under both Niko Kovac and Philippe Clement. He has started just four league games this season. The former Ligue 1 champion has been usurped by the amazing Vanderson. Ruben Aguilar has been playing the backup role. Sidibe wants to move on from the club this summer.
Djibril Sidibe has declined severely over the last three seasons. Despite the club trying to renew, he wants game time. He has not contributed to a single goal or assist this season. They also mention former loan club, Everton, as one of his suitors despite the club’s threat of relegation. Sidibe on a free transfer won’t be a bad pickup for clubs like Hertha and Schalke. They mention that he is motivated and is eyeing a place in Didier Deschamps’s Qatar 2022 French squad.
