After two years at Manchester United, Edinson Cavani left the club this summer as a free agent, and Villarreal look set to secure his signature. The 35-year-old will be reunited with his former boss Unai Emery in Spain. Reports say he will join the Valencia-based club ahead of Fenerbahce and Monza.
Villarreal have been negotiating with Almeria for Umar Sadiq, but are yet to come close to the €30m valuation of the Nigerian striker. They are now moving to sign Cavani, but they might have to sell first. Paco Alcacer is still on their books and they want to move him on first before acquiring another striker.
