Creative Corner: Unwanted FC shows how upcycling and football culture collide in fresh, inventive ways.

This week we caught up with Unwanted FC an Australian upcycling brand built on the idea of giving unwanted garments a new life. Founded by two brothers with years of experience across the sports and fashion industries, the brand was born from witnessing firsthand how much waste is left behind - from samples and faulty goods to surplus stock.

Through upcycling, Unwanted FC transforms once-loved kits into functional designs. From everyday carry-wear to wearable pieces that celebrate football’s culture and craft. Keeping functionality and the extension of a garments lifecycle at core.

Major collaborations in recent times include projects with Nike for the Women’s World Cup, Umbro, and West Ham United, with their brand even featured in EA FC. They’ve also crafted custom pieces for global stars Héctor Bellerín, Juan Mata, and Ellie Carpenter, further connecting professional players with the movement.

For Unwanted FC, the final whistle doesn’t mark an ending. It signals the start of a new chapter.
