Arsenal showing interest in former Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard – the Belgian has found game time hard to come by under Carlo Ancelotti

Eden Hazard's Real Madrid dreams have not lived up to expectations and Arsenal want to offer an escape route

Eden Hazard for Madrid

Arsenal are interested in Eden Hazard and have initiated the first contacts with the Real Madrid attacker according to Foot Mercato. Other sources in Spain claim he is ready to leave with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe imminent and Vinicius Jr’s incredible development over the season.

Hazard has fallen well below the pecking order in Carlo Ancelotti’s side. He has not played any minutes from their last five games. He has made only 62 appearances for the capital club in the league and the UEFA Champions League, scoring five and assisting seven. Those numbers are poor for a transfer that could cost over €150 million. The La Liga league leaders are said to be willing to let the Chelsea legend go after an underwhelming three-year spell at Los Blancos. FM claim that Arsenal have ‘real interest’ in the 31-year-old captain of Belgium and have ‘begun the first contacts’, but have not progressed further at the moment. This is one to keep an eye out for.
