adidas and Liverpool FC Revisit a 90s Classic With the Bringback Collection

Adidas and Liverpool FC have launched a new Bringback collection, revisiting one of the club’s most recognisable kits from the 1990s.

At the centre of the release is a faithful 1:1 reissue of Liverpool’s 1995/96 away jersey, a shirt that has long held cult status among supporters and football kit collectors. The collection taps into the growing nostalgia around 90s football aesthetics which was a time when kits were bold, expressive and increasingly intertwined with wider youth culture.

A True Archive Reissue

The hero piece in the range recreates the original 1995/96 away kit with close attention to detail. The jersey returns in the classic adidas EQT colour palette of green, black and white, complete with heritage elements including the vintage Liverpool crest, the Carlsberg sponsor and oversized EQT branding.

Beyond the match shirt, the collection expands into a full set of archive-inspired training wear. Shorts, sweatshirts, drill tops, pants and T-shirts all follow the same visual language, bringing back silhouettes that were a staple of football style during the decade.

While the original design sits at the heart of the release, the range also introduces a modern blackout version of the jersey. The alternative edition features tonal branding and a subtle crest, offering a contemporary take on the classic design for a new generation of supporters.

Celebrating Football Culture of the 90s

To accompany the launch, adidas and Liverpool released a campaign film inspired by football culture during the 1990s. The film is set inside a fictional retro sports shop called Fowler’s Sports, referencing former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler.

Fowler appears in the campaign alongside fellow Liverpool legend Steve McManaman, joined by players from the club’s current men’s and women’s teams. The concept highlights how football shirts from that era moved beyond the pitch to become cultural statements worn by fans, musicians and youth subcultures alike.

A Nostalgic Moment for Football Style

The Bringback collection arrives at a time when 90s football aesthetics are experiencing a strong revival. Archive jerseys, oversized branding and retro training wear have re-emerged in both football and streetwear, reflecting how kits from that era continue to influence modern style.

For Liverpool supporters, the reissue reconnects the club with a memorable chapter in its visual history, a period when football fashion began to take on a life of its own beyond matchday.

The adidas x Liverpool FC Bringback collection is available now through adidas retail stores, online channels and official Liverpool club stores.
