African Young Players Misses Out Of 20-Man Nominees List Released for The Golden Boy Award

African young footballers have failed to make the 20 man nominees for the golden boy award scheduled to hold in December 16 in Turin.

The trio of Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze, Watford midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru and Club Brugge’s Kreptin Diatta who initially made the 40-man list were not named  as the list was reduced to 20

The Nigeria youth internationals have been axed from the latest nominees list with no African making an appearance

The annual award, presented by Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport, honours the most outstanding young player in Europe under the age of 21.

Since its inception in 2003, no African player has won the award, a jinx the continent will be hoping to end in the next edition.
