According to various reports, West Ham are in advanced talks with Chelsea for the transfer of Armando Broja. The Albanian striker spent last season on loan at Southampton where he scored six Premier League goals. Before that, Broja was at Vitesse, where he scored 10 Eredivisie goals. He wanted first-team reassurances from Thomas Tuchel that have not come, and he is looking to head out permanently, not on another loan. The 20-year-old does not want to play backup for Chelsea.

West Ham have been pursuing Gianluca Scamacca, but they are now in advanced talks to sign Broja with Michail Antonio getting up in age. The Hammers need fresh blood up top, and Armando Broja is the sort of player they need. He constantly presses for the ball and harries defenders – something Ralph Hassenhuttl’s football thrives on. Broja has a devastating combination of pace and power that makes him a stubborn customer for defenders. David Moyes will love his new toy!

The deal is now up to Chelsea, who are not too keen on losing their prospect to a London rival. A buy-back clause may be inserted in any deal for Broja.
