U-23 AFCON: CAF Changes Draw Date, Fix October 2nd as New Date

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced a new date for the 2019 African Cup of Nations’ draw.

The draw which was initially scheduled for Thursday October 3rd has been moved to Wednesday October 2nd 2019.

The U-23 Eagles who will be battling other African teams for a slot at the 2020 Olympics will now know their group opponents for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations next week Wednesday.

The CAF and the Local Organising Committee decide to change the draw date due to logistic reasons.

It will take place at the Haramlek Palace, inside the historical Montaza Complex, Alexandria.

Aside from Nigeria and hosts Egypt, six other countries; Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mali, South Africa and Zambia will will be in attendance.

The final tournament will commence November 8 2019.

The top three finishers will qualify to represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
