Super Eagles Debutant Joe Aribo Happy to ‘Score on Debut’

Though not impressed with the outcome of the game, Aribo who paired Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi in midfield, capped a brilliant show with the game’s first goal in the fourth minute.

Super Eagles debutant Joe Aribo has expressed excitement and happiness over his performance at the yesterday’s 2-2 draw friendly game against Ukraine.

The Rangers midfielder who scored the opener in the fourth minute of the game, in a tweet on Wednesday expressed happiness on making a goal scoring debut for the Super Eagles at the Tuesday friendly in Dnipro.

“Buzzing to make my debut for @NGSuperEagles, unfortunate with the result but happy to score on my debut, a special day for me & my family and one I’ll remember. Thank you Go #SoarSuperEagles,” Aribo’s tweeted.

Though not impressed with the outcome of the game,  Aribo who paired Oghenekaro Etebo and Alex Iwobi in midfield, capped a brilliant show with the game’s first goal in the fourth minute.

The former Charlton Athletic player superbly slotted the ball home after receiving a pass from Iwobi.

Aribo came close to getting another goal midway through the first half, but his perfect header from Jamilu Collins’ cross was palmed away by Ukraine goalkeeper, Andriy Lunin.

Aribo while describing the occasion as special one for him and his family is however disappointed that the Super Eagles couldn’t hold on to their lead in the game.
