According to reports in Italy, after a meeting between Paulo Dybala’s agents and the Juventus hierarchy this afternoon, the Argentine will not sign a new contract with the club under the current terms of the offer. Juve and the 28-year-old have looked close to an agreement for months but there is no signature on the dotted line. It seemed they had reached an agreement over an 8m-euros-a-year deal plus 2m euros more in bonuses. However, the club reduced the agreed-upon salary. This is why he has not renewed.

La Joya is clearly Juve’s most talented attacker but his influence on the team can be fleeting and niggling injuries have prevented his growth. The former Palermo man wants to continue with the Bianconeri, but he wants to be paid what he feels he deserves. There are also agent fee issues involved in the talks so it is a bit complicated.

Despite the punctuating injuries Dybala has scored 13 goals and recorded 6 assists in 29 appearances for Juventus this campaign. He has 113 goals and 48 assists for the Serie A club in his 293 appearances for Max Allegri‘s side. The Argentine international will be sorely missed if he walks even though he can prove to be a tactical problem sometimes. Any club that gets him will be getting a gem. A champion with 11 titles to his name and innumerable personal accolades.
