Fulham have completed the signing of Switzerland right-back Kevin Mbabu from Wolfsburg for £6.4M.

The Cottagers, who secured their return to the Premier League after winning the Championship last season, have agreed on a three-year deal for the right-sided defender with the option of another year.

Kevin Mbabu becomes Fulham’s 4th summer signing ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Marco Silva has already gotten Palhinha, Andreas Pereira, and Manor Solomon for starters. Deals for Bernd Leno and Issa Diop are still in the works.

The 27-year-old Mbabu made three appearances in the Premier League during his four-year stay at Newcastle United as a youngster.

After an unsuccessful loan spell with Rangers, Kevin Mbabu would return to Switzerland with Young Boys, where he found immense success on loan before a permanent deal was struck.

After winning team and individual titles in his native land, he joined Wolfsburg in 2019 for £8M. He made 101 appearances for the Bundesliga side, scoring five and assisting ten more.

The former Rangers FC player told FFCTV he is “happy to be here as a Fulham Football Club player.”

He said: “It’s a relief and now I can focus on my goals and the club’s goals, and help the team to be successful. The first step is to stay in the Premier League, stay stable in the league and then why not aim for the top 10?”

Vice Chairman Tony Khan added: “I’m very happy that we’ve been able to bring Kevin Mbabu to Fulham. Kevin is a player whom we’ve pursued for several years. He brings great physical tools to our Club in addition to his vast experience, and he’s determined to prove himself in the Premier League, so we believe that he’ll be a great addition to Marco’s squad, and we’re very excited about his arrival.
