The Nigerian Football Federation has appointed current Super Eagles Technical Director Augustine Eguavoen as it’s new coach on interim basis.
This follows after the termination of relationship with the longest serving Manager Gernot Rohr on Sunday in a virtual meeting of NFF executive committee.
According to the General Secretary of the NFF, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi.
“The relationship between the Nigeria Football
Federation and Mr Rohr has come to an end. We thank him for his services to the Super Eagles and Nigeria.
“We also want to thank the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports for their collaboration and guidance all through”
Eguavoen is a former Nigerian captain and coached the squad in the AFCON 2006 tournament when the team finished 3rd place also on field captain when the Super Eagles lifted the Africa Cup for the 1st time.
