Max Eberl resigns as Borussia Monchengladbach Sporting Director after 13 years with Die Fohlen

The 48-year-old has interest from all over Germany despite leaving The Foals in a crisis

Max Eberl will announce his decision to step down as Sporting Director of Borussia Monchengladbach this afternoon in a press conference

Legendary Borussia Monchengladbach Sporting Director Max Eberl has resigned from his role despite a contract that runs till 2026. The Foals have started the season horribly as they battle relegation and while many thought head coach Adi Hutter was the person to go, the man that hired him is the one leaving. Eberl, a former Bayern Munich player, has been known for his shrewd yet successful business dealings. However, he leaves the club in a major crisis. They are out of the DFB-Pokal and locked in a relegation battle in the Bundesliga. To make matters worse, they will lose two of their biggest assets Denis Zakaria and Matthias Ginter for free this summer.
