Leicester Title Hopes Suffers Set Back, Plays 1-1 with Norwich City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers says he is not thinking about the growing gap behind league leaders Liverpool after his side were held to a draw by a battling Norwich at King Power Stadium.

The Foxes, who remain second, now lie 10 points behind league leaders Liverpool, following their hard-fought win over Watford in Saturday’s early game.

When asked about the blow to his side’s title ambitions, Rodgers said: “It’s not something we’ve spoken about, everyone else has.

“These players have been brilliant, it says everything we have drawn a game and everyone is disappointed.

“We weren’t quite at our level but we managed to get back and get a point. We’ll press the rest button and get ready for a [Carabao Cup] quarter-final on Wednesday [at Everton].”

Norwich, who were impressive, deservedly took the lead when Teemu Pukki slotted home after being sent through by Emiliano Buendia.

But their lead only lasted 12 minutes as Leicester equalised when Jamie Vardy’s bullet header was turned into the net by Norwich keeper Tim Krul.

Both sides pressed hard for a winner in an entertaining second half, with Vardy twice going close, but neither side could find a way through.
