Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers emerges as candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjær with Manchester United wary of Antonio Conte

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær is under pressure following some disappointing results and the Manchester Unied higher-ups are looking at Brendan Rodgers of Leicester City to replace him

Former Molde & Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær is under fire following some disappointing results with Manchester United this season. The 5-0 humbling from Liverpool at Old Trafford did not go down well with the higher-ups. Despite supporting the Norwegian coach, they are readying themselves for a change if the results do not improve.

In a report from ESPN this morning, Brendan Rodgers is one of the names being mentioned as a replacement for OGS. Rodgers who currently manages Leicester City is seen as a better choice than the volatile serial winner Antonio Conte. The Manchester United bosses are wary of Conte’s fiery personality.

It will take a lot to get the 48-year-old Rodgers out of his current club though. He signed a contract in December 2019 that runs till 2025. The Northern Irishman Rodgers is a very good coach, but is he the man to lead United back to its glory days? That remains a doubt. Rodgers has done a great job at every club he has been at but Leicester City looks the perfect level for him right now. Their back-to-back fumbling of UEFA Champions League spots will hunt the foxes despite winning the FA Cup & Community shield.

Manchester United needs a serial winner to drag them to the top by sheer force of will and tactical acumen. That man is Antonio Conte, not Brendan Rodgers. We wait to see how this story develops. The red devils also sounded out Mauricio Pochettino but their advances were rebuffed.
