Arsenal have completed the signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht for a fee of 18 million Pounds. The Belgian midfielder has made 78 appearances for the club working his way up through the various youth stages. At 21, he has made appearances for the Belgian U21 side and received a senior call-up earlier this year against Greece, even though he remained an unused substitute. He has captained the side coached by former Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany.
ASL can play as a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as a disciplined holding midfielder. He has signed a five-year contract which will run till 2026 and the 18 million Pound fee can rise to 22 million. Good luck to the new Gooner. He is the second signing for Mikel Arteta after Nuno Tavares and it looks like Ben White is next.
